A liquid chromatographic system is provided including catalytically combining hydrogen and oxygen gases in the chromatography eluent stream in a catalytic gas elimination chamber (31), to form water and thereby reduce the gas content in the eluent stream. Also, a liquid ion chromatographic system in which the effluent from the detector (14) is recycled to a membrane suppressor (12) and then is mixed with a source of eluent (18) for recycle to the chromatographic column (10).

L'invention concerne un système de chromatographie liquide qui comprend le mélange catalytique de gaz d'hydrogène et d'oxygène dans le flux d'éluant de chromatographie dans une chambre d'élimination de gaz catalytique, de manière à former de l'eau et, donc, à diminuer le contenu gazeux dans ledit flux d'éluant. Cette invention a aussi pour objet un système de chromatographie d'échange d'ions, dans lequel l'effluent provenant du détecteur est recyclé jusqu'à un suppresseur à membrane et, puis, mélangé avec une source d'éluant en vue du recyclage au niveau de la colonne chromatographique.
