IONIC CONDUCTORS FOR SOLID OXIDE FUEL CELLS Abstract of the Disclosure An electrolyte that operates at temperatures rang- ing from 600°C to 800°C is provided. The electrolyte con- ducts charge ionically as well as electronically. The ionic conductors include molecular framework structures having planes or channels large enough to transport oxides or hy- drated protons and having net-positive or net-negative charges. Representative molecular framework structures in- clude substituted aluminum phosphates, orthosilicates, silicoaluminates, cordierites, apatites, sodalites, and hollandites.
