A storage device having excellent low-temperature characteristics, which contains a quaternary salt (or ionic liquid) represented by the following general formula (1) as an electrolyte salt or electrolytic liquid: (1) wherein R1 to R4 are the same or different and each represents C1-5 alkyl or alkoxyalkyl represented by R'-O-(CH2)n-, provided that at least one of R1 to R4 is the alkoxyalkyl; X represents nitrogen or phosphorus; and Y represents a monovalent anion.
