An iontophoresis device in which at least one of the electrodes is a composite electrode containing a polymeric binder, a powdered or fibrous conductive filler and a divided material capable of being consumed by electrochemical oxidation or reduction. The binder of the composite electrode consists of a polymer containing 60-100 mol % of 1,2-epoxypropane and/or 1,2-epoxybutane, and 40-0 mol % of at least one other monomer that is copolymerisable with such oxides. The device is useful for transcutaneously delivering active principles to a patient.

Dispositif d'ionophorèse dont au moins l'une des électrodes est une électrode composite renfermant un liant polymère, une charge conductrice pulvérulente ou fibreuse et une matière divisée consommable par oxydation ou réduction électrochimique. Le liant de l'électrode composite consiste en un polymère renfermant, en pourcentage molaire, de 60 % à 100 % d'époxy-1,2 propane ou/et d'époxy-1-2 butane et de 40 % à 0 % d'au moins un autre monomère copolymérisable avec ces oxydes. Application du dispositif à l'administration transcutanée de principes actifs à un sujet.
