A method of facilitating access to IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, services by non-IMS enabled terminals. The method comprises registering a non-IMS enabled terminal with a Home IMS gateway, and, in response to said registration, performing an IMS registration on behalf of said terminal between the Home IMS gateway and the IMS using information obtained from a Universal SIM application of a UMTS Integrated Circuit Card present at the Home IMS gateway.

La présente invention concerne un procédé facilitant l'accès à des services de sous-système IP multimédia (IP Multimedia Subsystem/ IMS), par des terminaux non compatibles avec l'IMS. Le procédé comprend l'enregistrement d'un terminal non compatible avec l'IMS avec une passerelle IMS locale, et, en réponse à cet enregistrement, la mise en oeuvre d'un enregistrement IMS pour le compte dudit terminal, entre la passerelle IMS locale et l'IMS au moyen d'informations obtenues d'une application SIM universelle d'une carte de circuit intégré UMTS présente au niveau de la passerelle IMS locale.
