ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed are iron-containing aluminosilicate, a process for producing said iron-containing aluminosilicate, and a process for hydrocracking of heavy oil in the presence of a catalyst containing said iron-containing aluminosilicate as a support. Iron-containing aluminosilicate has the main composition in the form of oxide as represented by the general formula: aFe2O3?A12O3?bsiO2?nH2O (wherein all the symbols are as defined in the appended claims), an inert iron compound content [Fe]dep as calculated by temperature-programmed reduction of not more than 35%, and at least one high-temperature reduction peak, Th (°C), falling within the range represented by the following equation: 700°C?Th?(-300 x UD + 8,320)°C (wherein UD is a lattice constant (?) of the iron containing aluminosilicate).
