An iron golf club, comprising a head part (1) having a face surface (4), wherein a coefficient of restitution obtained when a ball is hit by a sweet spot on the face surface (4) at a speed of 44 m/s falls within the range of 0.81 or more to 0.95 or less, the effective face area of the head part (1) is 2500 mm?2~ or larger to 5000 mm?2~ or smaller, the effective deflection length is 36 mm or longer to 72 mm or shorter, and the face thickness at the sweep spot is 1.0 mm or thicker to 2.5 mm or thinner.

L'invention concerne un club de golf du type fer dont la partie tÚte (1) comporte une face avant (4). Ledit club est caract~ris~ en ce que le coefficient de restitution obtenu lorsque la balle est frapp~e par le point id~al de la face avant (4) ~ une vitesse de 44 m/s se trouve compris entre 0,81 et 0,95, en ce que la surface avant effective de la partie tÚte (1) est comprise entre 2500 mm?2´ et 5000 mm?2´, en ce que la longueur de d~flexion effective est comprise entre 36 mm et 72 mm, et en ce que l'~paisseur avant au niveau du point id~al est comprise entre 1,0 mm et 2,5 mm.
