IRON PHOSPHATE ACCELERATOR ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A combination of accelerators, including an oxidizing agent such as a chlorate or a bromate, in conjunction with a reducing agent, particularly, hydroxylamine sulfate is used in phosphatizing ferrous metal at low temperature to produce an iron phosphate coating with good salt spray resistance.
