Magnetic nanocomposite materials including iron, rare earth elements, boron, refractory metal and, optionally, cobalt are disclosed. Neodymium and lanthanum are preferred rare earth elements. The amounts of Nd, La, B and refractory metal are controlled in order to produce both hard and soft magnetic phases, as well as a refractory metal boride precipitated phase. The refractory metal boride precipitates serve as grain refiners and substantially improve the magnetic properties of the nanocomposite materials. The materials are particularly suitable for making bonded magnets.

Cette invention se rapporte à des matériaux nanocomposites magnétiques, qui contiennent du fer, des éléments de terres rares, du bore, un métal réfractaire et, éventuellement, du cobalt. Le néodyme et le lanthane sont les éléments de terres rares préférés. Les quantités de Nd, de La, de B et de métal réfractaire sont régulées, pour produire des phases magnétiques à la fois dure et douce, ainsi qu'une phase précipitée de borure de métal réfractaire. Les précipités de borure de métal réfractaire servent de produits d'affinage du grain et améliorent sensiblement les propriétés magnétiques de ces matériaux nanocomposites. Ces matériaux sont particulièrement appropriés pour produire des aimants contrecollés.
