The invention relates to an iron comprising a body (1) connected to a cord (3), such as an power supply cord, equipped with a cord guiding device (5) providing a preferential orientation of the cord (3) at the output of the body, characterised in that said cord guiding device (5) includes an arch-shaped part (50) holding the cord (3), said arch (50) being hinged at its ends relative to the body (1) of the iron.
