ABSTRACT Irradiated polymer compositions are provided which are protected against oxidation at elevated temperatures by the presence of a minor amount of an organic phosphite. The invention is particularly directed to irradiated cross-linked polymers of olefine, e.g. polyethylene and polypropylene. In some cases it may be advantageous additionally to incorporate a hydroxy aromatic compound containing a sulphur atom.
