In-ground pool owners have always installed drains at the bottom of their pools. The said bottom drain is stabilized with hardened concrete and installed at a depth of more than eight feet, putting it below grade and therefore making it impervious to seasonal variations in ground temperature. In recent years, bottom drains have also been installed in above-ground pools. No installation specifications and/or plans are available, however, for such drains. Since the pool is seated on a soft and flexible material, such as sand or stone dust, the required stability is not there and the bottom drain must be stabilized. Furthermore, because the bottom drain is installed at ground level, ground movement caused by repeated freezing and thawing can shift the bottom drain out of position, even if it is surrounded by hardened concrete for greater stability. The larger area occupied by the ISO DRAIN helps to reduce soil subsidence and increase stability. Styrofoam is also used to help reduce shifting of the bottom drain due to freezing and thawing. This circular-shaped invention is made of polystyrene foam that is resistant to numerous changes in temperature.

Depuis toujours, les propriétaires de piscine creusée installent un drain de fond à leur piscine. Ledit drain de fond est stabilisé avec du béton dur et installé à plus de huit (8) pieds de profondeur et donc, par le fait même, à l'épreuve des variations de température du sol et notamment, du gel et du dégel. Depuis quelques années seulement, des drains de fond sont également installés dans les piscines hors terre. Aucun devis d'installation et/ou de plan d'installation n'est cependant disponible pour un tel drain. Le fond de la piscine étant constitué dematériel mou et flexible, tel le sable et la poussière de roche, ce dernier n'offre pas la stabilité voulue et le drain de fond se doit d'être stabilisé. De plus, compte tenu que le drain de fond est installé en surface, les mouvements de sol provoqués par le gel et le dégel répétés peuvent avoir comme résultat un déplacement du drain de fond et ce, même si le drain de fond est entouré de béton dur pour en assurer sastabilité. L'augmentation de la surface occupée par le drain de fond lors de la pose de l'ISO DRAIN aide à pallier à l'affaissement du sol et en augmente la stabilité. De plus, le styromousse aide à pallier au déplacement du drain de fond causé par le gel et le dégel. L'invention de forme circulaire est fabriquée de mousse de polystyrène résistant aux changements multiples de température.
