An isocyanate-based polymer foam comprising an isocyanate-based polymer foam matrix having disposed therein a particulate material having an enthalpy of endothermic phase transition of at least about 50 J/g. A process for producing the foam is also described. During the process, the particulate material acts as a heat sink and will undergo an endothermic phase change by absorbing a significant portion of the heat of reaction liberated during the process. This improves the safety of the process by lowering the maximum exotherm experienced by the foam and/or improves product properties.
Divulgation d'une mousse polymère à base d'isocyanante comprenant une matrice de mousse polymérique à base d'isocyanante, à l'intérieur de laquelle est introduit une matière particulaire ayant une enthalpie de transition de phase endothermique d'au moins environ 50 J/g. Un procédé pour la production de la mousse est aussi divulgué. Au cours de ce procédé, la matière particulaire agit comme un piège de chaleur et passe par un changement de phase endothermique en absorbant une grande partie de la chaleur de réaction dégagée au cours du procédé. Cela améliore la sûreté du procédé en réduisant le dégagement de chaleur maximal de la mousse et/ou améliore les propriétés du produit.
