A materials handling vehicle including a frame supporting a set of wheels and a rider compartment having a platform on which an operator may stand. Shock dampeners are provided positioned between the platform and the frame to isolate an operator standing on the platform from vibrations experienced by the frame. The platform includes a pair of pedals for controlling operation of the materials handling vehicle and the shock dampeners are preferably resilient members such as compression springs for receiving vibrations transmitted from the frame.

Cette invention concerne un véhicule de manutention de matériaux (10) comprenant un cadre (12) sur lequel sont montés un ensemble de roues (14, 16, 17) ainsi qu'un compartiment pour le conducteur (26), lequel compartiment est équipé d'une plate-forme (28) où l'opérateur se tient debout. Des amortisseurs de chocs (50, 52, 86, 150) disposés entre la plate-forme et le cadre permettent d'isoler l'opérateur se tenant debout sur ladite plate-forme des vibrations que subit le cadre. La plate-forme comporte deux pédales (34, 36) permettant de commander le véhicule de manutention de matériaux durant son fonctionnement. Les amortisseurs de chocs sont de préférence des éléments élastiques, tel que des ressorts de compression, destinés à recevoir les vibrations transmises par le cadre.
