A method of determining the presence, amount or concentration of at least one autoantibody that reacts with neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), alone or in further combination with a method of determining the concentration of NGAL, which methods can further comprise diagnosing, prognosticating, or assessing the efficacy of a therapeutic/prophylactic treatment of a patient and, optionally, modifying the therapeutic/prophylactic treatment of the patient as needed to improve efficacy; a kit comprising at least one component for assaying a test sample for at least one autoantibody that reacts with NGAL and instructions for assaying; a method of isolating an autoantibody that reacts with NGAL; an isolated autoantibody that reacts with NGAL; and a method for determining the reliability of an NGAL assay result.
L'invention porte sur un procédé consistant à déterminer la présence, la quantité ou la concentration d'au moins un autoanticorps qui réagit avec une lipocaline associée à une gélatinasse neutrophile (NGAL), seul ou en combinaison avec le procédé consistant à déterminer la concentration de NGAL, lesquels procédés peuvent en outre comprendre le diagnostic, le pronostic ou l'évaluation de l'efficacité d'un traitement thérapeutique/prophylactique d'un patient et, facultativement, la modification du traitement thérapeutique/prophylactique du patient tel que nécessaire pour améliorer l'efficacité ; sur un kit renfermant au moins un composant pour évaluer un échantillon de test pour au moins un autoanticorps qui réagit avec NGAL et des instructions pour le dosage ; sur un procédé d'isolement d'un autoanticorps qui réagit avec NGAL ; sur un autoanticorps isolé qui réagit avec NGAL ; et sur un procédé de détermination de la fiabilité d'un résultat de dosage de NGAL.
