ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention provides a novel method of isolating the immunogeric components from influenza virus and to vaccines comprising such components. In particular, it provides a method of isolating the hemagglutinin and neuraminidase components from influenza virus, comprising treating influenza virus in an aqueous medium with a cationic detergent to selectively solubilise such components, and separating the resulting solubilised such components from residual sub-viral particles.
