ISOLATION OF LIGNIN FROM SOLVENT PULPING LIQUORS Abstract of the Disclosure Adjusting the pH of a solvent pulping liquor to a pH of greater than 3.0 but less than or equal to 7.0 results in the formation of an easily filterable lignin precipitate when a portion of the lower alcohol is evaporated from the solvent pulping liquor. The lower alcohol may be evaporated by direct contact heating in a stirred tank without the formation of a tarry precipitate.
