ABSTRACT Described herein are Syn-7-[2-(2-amino-4-thiazolyl)- 2-methoxy-imino]acetamido-3-acetoxymethyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid (Compound A) solvates with alicyclic ethers. These solid solvates are prepared by combining the aforesaid Compound A in an aqueous medium with an alicyclic ether at a pH of from 2.0 to 3.5; and are useful in the isolation of Compound A (the parent compound) from an aqueous reaction mixture. Compound A, viz. Syn-7-[2-(2-amino-4-thiazolyl)-2-methoxy-imino] acetamido-3- acetoxymethyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid, is an important antibiotic.
