ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Alkylate mixtures of alpha and beta isopropylnaphtha- lenes containing low ratios of beta/alpha isomer and which do not contain propylene are isomerized in the presence of a rare earth metal exchanged "Y" type aluminosilicate catalyst at a temperature of from about 200°C. to 325°C., a space velocity of from about 0.1 to 4 hour-1 and a pressure of from about 200 psig to 500 psig, to produce mixtures having high beta/alpha isopropylnaphthalene ratios.
