ISOPARAFFIN-OLEFIN ALKYLATION ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a process for effecting alkylation of an isoparaffin with an olefin in the presence of a catalyst comprising a macroreticular acid cation ex- change resin characterized by a surface acid concentration of less than about 0.5 milliequivalents of hydrogen ion per square meter surface area, boron trifluoride in an amount of at least about 0.1 equivalent per equivalent of resin acid groups but not in excess of that required to saturate said resin and hydrogen fluoride in an amount between about 0.1 equivalent and about 10 equivalents per equivalent of resin acid groups.
