ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An isotope separation process is carried out by diluting a mixture containing the desired isotope compound to be enriched, with an inert diluent gas which is transparent to the irradiated infrared rays, condensing the isotope compounds together with the inert diluent gas on a cold plate and irradiating specific infrared rays absorbed only by the desired isotope compound to selectively excite the desired isotope compound.
