C-3919 ISOTROPIC RARE EARTH-IRON FIELD MAGNETS FOR MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING Abstract of the Disclosure A ring magnet for creating a desired magnetic field within the bore of the ring is formed from a plurality of bonded permanently magnetic, magnetically isotropic magnets comprised of very finely crystalline particles of an alloy, the principal phase of which is RE2TM14B1. Each magnet can be magnetized in a desired direction before assembly into the ring. The invention has particular application to ring magnets for magnetic resonance imaging devices.
