The present invention relates to a process for coloration of a high molecular weight material by admixing said high molecular weight organic or inorganic material, preferably high molecular weight organic material, prior to processing with at least one compound of formula (I), where A1 and A2 are independently unsubstituted, monosubstituted, disubstituted, trisubstituted or tetrasubstituted o-C6-C18arylene. The invention further relates to compositions of matter comprising isoxindigo compounds and high molecular weight organic material. The invention also relates to processes for preparing the compound of said formula and also to novel isoxindigo compounds which can be symmetrical or asymmetrical or else have a bisisoxindigo structure.

L'invention concerne un procédé servant à colorer un matériau présentant un poids moléculaire élevé et consistant à mélanger ledit matériau organique ou inorganique présentant un poids moléculaire élevé, de préférence, un matériau organique, préalablement à son traitement avec au moins un composé représenté par la formule (I), dans laquelle A¿1? et A¿2? représentent indépendamment arylène o-C¿6?-C¿18? non substitué, monosubstitué, disubstitué, trisubstitué ou tétrasubstitué. Elle concerne, de plus, des compositions contenant des composés d'isoxindigo et un matériau organique présentant un poids moléculaire élevé. Elle concerne également des procédés servant à préparer le composé représenté par ladite formule, ainsi que de nouveaux composés d'isoxindigo pouvant être symétriques ou asymétriques ou sinon présenter une structure de bisisoxindigo.
