RBP File No. 6196-002 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A combination of yarns and a method of construction is provided for constructing itch-resistant wool blend garments, including undergarments and hosiery. The combination of yarns comprises a wool yarn and a cotton yarn where the cotton yarn may be twisted about a spandex core. The method provides that the wool yarn is knitted to the cotton yarn by means of a plating knitting method to form a fabric having first and second surfaces, the first surface being substantially covered with wool and the second surface being substantially covered with cotton. Itch-resistant wool blend garments are produced wherein the outer surface of the garment is substantially covered with wool and the inner surface of the garment is substantially covered with cotton.
