An iterated electrode heating system for an oil well having an initial well bore extending downwardly from the surface of the earth through one or more overburden formations, and a producing well bore, communicating with and extending into at least one oil producing formation, the iterated electrode system being located in the producing well bore and including an iterated electrode array including a plurality of separated conductive tubular electrodes of given diameter that are electrically isolated from one another and that extend through an oil producing well bore zone with each electrode in the array having a given length, the sum of the lengths of the electrodes being substantially less than the length of the oil producing well bore zone and with each electrode being spaced from adjacent electrodes in the array by a non-conducting isolation section, the length of the isolation section being substantially larger than the electrode diameter, and an electrical power delivery apparatus connected to the electrodes to energize the electrodes with A.C. power with a phase difference between electrodes of at least 90 degrees.
La présente invention vise un système de chauffage à électrodes parallèles pour puits de pétrole comprenant un puits d'injection se prolongeant de la surface terrestre jusque dans une ou plusieurs couches de morts-terrains, et un puits de production se prolongeant jusque dans au moins une couche pétrolifère et communiquant avec cette dernière. Le système de chauffage est placé dans le puits producteur et il est constitué d'un ensemble d'électrodes tubulaires, d'un diamètre donné, de longueurs différentes, la somme de ces longueurs étant substantiellement inférieure à celle du puits producteur, conductrices, séparées et isolées électriquement les unes des autre par une section non conductrice, la longueur de ces sections d'isolement étant substantiellement supérieure au diamètre des électrodes. Le système comprend également un bloc d'alimentation en c.a assurant une différence de phase entre les électrodes d'au moins 90 degrés.
