ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A first piston having a passageway for hydraulic fluid and a second piston slide within a cylindrical body of a jack for crown or disk brakes. An extension of the first piston slides within a guide and actuates a movable pusher. A closure seal closes the passageway when the first piston touches the second piston. The sum of the axial fric- tion forces of the first piston on the cylindrical body and of the extension on its guide is less than the sum of the axial friction forces of the second piston on the cylindrical body and on the extension. The displacement of the second piston takes up the wear of the brake linings while the dis- placement of the first piston effects the clamping of the brake linings on the crown or disk.
