The present invention relates to a jack-knifing prevention assembly for a tractor-trailer. The assembly has an actuable magnet, an actuator and an attracted member. The actuable magnet is to be installed on a rear portion of the tractor and generates a magnetic field. The actuator is operationally connected to the magnet for actuating the magnetic field. The attracted member has to be operationally installed on the trailer for co-operating with the magnetic field of the magnet. Upon actuation of the magnetic field of the magnet, the attracted member co-operates with the magnetic field to prevent rotation of the trailer with respect to the tractor. The present invention also relates to a tractor-trailer equipped with such a jack-knifing prevention assembly, and to a method of preventing jack-knifing of tractor-trailers by using such an assembly.
