- 9 - ABSTRACT The invention relates to a jacket for a liquid-tight packaging of cardboard composite material coated with plastics and having a longitudinal seam. To obtain a straight edge when an edge strip (4) of the layer disposed inside the seam is folded over, firstly composite material (7) is removed in a narrow inner zone, limited to the fold, along the folding line of the edge strip (4) to be folded over. Such removal can be performed precisely, using inexpensive apparatus. This creates the precondition for the production of a straight edge at the folding place of the folded- over edge strip (4). Fig. 1 is intended for the Abstract.
