JACKING SYSTEM FOR LARGE FRAGILE OBJECTS ABSTRACT A system for jacking large objects such as a ships hull, without allowing any distortion of the object is achieved by using a plurality of hydraulic jacks whose rams are are governed to extend at precisely the same rate of travel regardless of the load on any one jack by means of a master cylinder that actuates simultaneously a slave cylinder for each ram jack. A means is provided for retracting all the jacks while the load is carried by jacking columns which allow the rams to be repositioned for incremental jacking of the object within the plurality of surrounding columns.
