ABSTRACT TITLE: JACQUARD DOUBLE PLUSH FABRIC, METHOD OF MAKING THE FABRIC AND APPARATUS FOR CARRYING OUT THE METHOD. The invention relates to a fabric construction comprising a double plush single-shed weft infeed weaving in which the dead thread groups are woven in and distributed throughout the upper and lower fabric portions. During weaving the pile construction is provided at each weft in the upper and the lower fabric portions with the help of a separate card sheet at each weft for controlling all the dead thread groups in the single-weft pile construction the resultant fabric portions ensure that the pulling through of these thread groups is avoided, mixed contours are eliminated and a productivity approximately equal to that of single-weft pile construction is achieved.
