A jet fuel with the following characteristics is described: (i) a distillation point in the range of 140-300 DEG C; (ii) a cis decalin/trans decalin ratio of above 0.2; (iii) an aromatics content of less than 22 volume %; (iv) a sulphur content of less than 100 ppm; and (v) a net volume calorific value of more than 34.65 Mj/litre.
