ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A method for welding together two metal bodies along respective flat surfaces thereof by resistance welding one or more areas of said surfaces, comprising the steps; forming on one of the flat surfaces at the middle of each area to be welded, a tapered protuberance projecting from the surface, the crests of the protuberances lying on a plane parallel to the flat surfaces; forming on the same surface on which the protuberances are provided or on the corresponding areas of the other surface a recess for each protuberance which recess has a capacity at least as large as the volume of that portion of the protuberance which projects from the respective surface of the body; bringing into contact the protuberances with the corresponding weld areas of the flat surface of the other body so that each protuberance is centered on the respective weld area; impressing a voltage across the contacting bodies strong enough and lasting enough for melting those portions of the protuberances which project from the respective flat surface while forcing the two bodies one against the other until said flat surfaces come to mate together; and discontinuing the voltage. And, a structural metal product obtained by the above method.
