A composition for lubricating a joint is disclosed which comprises a solution or suspension of a phospholipid together with gelatin. The gelatin is preferably succinylated gelatin. The phospholipid, may be phosphatidic acid, phosphatidyl ethanolamine, phosphatidyl choline, phosphatidyl serine, phosphatidyl inositol, phosphatidylglycerol and cardiolipin, especially phosphatidyl choline. The composition of the invention is useful in reducing wear in simulator studies of artificial joints.

L'invention concerne une composition pour lubrifier les articulations. Cette composition comprend une solution ou une suspension d'un phospholipide avec de la gélatine. La gélatine est, de préférence, de la gélatine succinylatée. Le phospholipide peut être de l'acide phosphatidique, phosphatidyl éthanolamine, phosphatidyl choline, phosphatidyl sérine, phosphatidyl inositol, phosphatidylglycérol and cardiolipine, en particulier phosphatidyl choline. La composition selon l'invention permet de réduire l'usure dans les études de simulation des articulations artificielles.
