ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A two-armed jointed manipulator is provided, with a holder which moves along a linear locus by the movement of the second arm being indexed to the movement of the first arm. This indexing has a degree of controlled play so that at its ends the locus changes its direction sharply for a short distance, and so that a degree of resilience is provided against shocks.
