A juvenile safety car seat comprises a seat portion and a backrest portion forming a support portion defining a support space for receiving a juvenile. A pair of side guards are outwardly movably provided on both sides of the backrest portion for protecting the head region and the shoulder regions of the juvenile. A vertical position adjusting mechanism for adjusting the vertical position of the backrest portion is provided between the seat portion and the backrest portion. It is possible to provide a child & junior seat excellent in safety and comfortableness by employing this structure.
