The present invention refers to a newly discovered gene named KASPP for Kinase Associated with Parkinsonism with Pleiomorphic Pathology or alternatively named LRRK2 for Leucine-Rich Repeat Kinase 2, its production, biochemical characterization and use for the detection and treatment of neurodegenerative disorders, such as Parkinson disease (PD) including, without limitation, sporadic PD, Alzheimer disease (AD), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and other synucleinopathies and/or tauopathy as well as several polymorphisms and mutations in the KASPP/LRRK2 gene segregated with PD.
L'invention concerne un gène nouvellement découvert appelé KASPP ("Kinase Associated with Parkinsonism with Pleiomorphic Pathology") ou LRRK2 ("Leucine-Rich Repeat Kinase 2"), la production, la caractérisation biochimique et l'utilisation de ce gène pour la détection et le traitement de troubles neurodégénératifs tels que la maladie de Parkinson (MP), et notamment, mais non exclusivement, la MA sporadique, la maladie d'Alzheimer (MA), la sclérose latérale amyotrophique (SLA), et d'autres synucléinopathies et/ou tauopathies, ainsi que différents polymorphismes et mutations du gène KASPP/LRRK2 isolées dans la MP.
