"A keeper part for positioning an inner layer of a two-layer cover on the outer face of a printing press cylinder" ABSTRACT On using two-layer covers on the outer faces of prin- ting press cylinders, certain trouble conditions may he expected, more specially when the two-layers are fixed in position by different systems. Such trouble conditions are more likely in the case of the inner cover layer. Such troubles are in connection with keeping the parts in their in register positions while on the other hand it 19 hard to see that there is enough space for the keeper part for the inner layer. As may be seen from figures 2 and 3, these shortcomings may be taken care of in the present invention inasfar as the keeper part (5) for the inner layer (6) is in the form of a keeper rail (8) stretching along the length of the press cylinder and having a generally round cross-section, the rail (8) so resting against, and being supported by, the press cylinder at one end and at two positions (22, 3, 7) parallel to the axis of the press cylinder (1), that the keeper part (5) 18 regularly positioned and trued up in-re- gister in the round-the-cylinder and side-to-side directions and furthermore fixing pins (11) are joined up to the keeper rail along the length thereof with a registerwise spacing and distribution, said pins having heads (17) with such a form that, by turning the pins through 90° about their axis, the inner layer (6) may be locked onto the keeper rail (8).
