Disclosed is a ketone-aldehyde resin which is a condensation product of a C1-8 alkylcyclohexanone, an aliphatic aldehyde and optionally another ketone. The ketone-aldehyde resin is soluble in a wide variety of solvents and is compatible with a wide variety of binders and resins. Hence the ketone-aldehyde resin is useful as a resin component in paints, printing inks and other coatings, especially in pigment preparations.
