ABSTRACT Keycard reader has an entry slot oriented at an angle to the vertical of about 25° and a vertical lower portion so that a flexible keycard C is bent as it is inserted. This provides a convenient entry, precludes the malicious insertion of foreign objects into the reader to render it inoperative, blocks light from entering the reader, and makes it unnecessary to provide an enlarged opening in the door to receive the lock.
