A kinetic amusement device is described which includes a support having a top and a bottom. A kinetic member is suspended from the top of the support by a plurality of strings arranged in a cylindrical configuration about a notional rotation axis. The kinetic member is set in motion by manually rotating the kinetic member to twist the strings and then releasing the kinetic member whereby the energy stored in the twisted strings results in a rapid rotation of the kinetic member.
