A method for kinetically resolving a stereoisomer mixture of compounds using asymmetric epoxidation is provided. Compounds contain an olefin moiety providing one stereoisomer to be epoxidized at a higher rate than the other stereoisomer using a chiral ketone and an oxidizing agent.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de résolution cinétique d'un mélange stéréoisomère de composés. Ce procédé fait appel à une époxydation asymétrique. En l'occurrence, ces composés contiennent un radical oléfine fournissant un stéréoisomère qui subira l'époxydation à une vitesse plus élevée que l'autre stéréoisomère. On utilise pour cette époxydation une cétone chirale et un oxydant.
