Abstract "Dry food storage containers are known to have lids which are inserted upon or removed from the top of the containers. In this invention, containers open ended at the top are designed lower at the back than at the front with the top edge of their sides following a straight angular line between these two points. A sheet metal plate, bent along the edges is designed to surround the containers at the top and exterior sides, and additionally to support weighted lids. When a container is pushed under a weighted lid, the lid is lifted and remains resting in a weighted state upon the container until this one is removed from under it. The surrounding component having a flat non-movable surface adds a utilizable space above the containers area."
