The invention relates to a knee prosthesis comprising a femoral prosthetic part (1), which forms a pair of condylar gliding surfaces (5), a tibial part (2) comprising tibial gliding surfaces (9) that co-operate with the condylar gliding surfaces (5), in addition to a coupling part (10) that connects the femoral and tibial parts (1, 2) so that they can rotate about a rotational axis (12) running approximately parallel to the tibia. If the femoral and tibial parts (1, 2) have the same anteroposterior alignment, the load is transferred by a central region (14) of the tibial gliding surfaces (9). According to the invention, the tibial gliding surface (9) slopes upwards both in front of said region (14) of normal contact and also behind said region, in such a way that when the two prosthetic parts (1, 2) rotate against one another, each of the condylar gliding surfaces (5) remains in contact with the corresponding tibial gliding surface (9), in front of or behind the region (14) of normal contact.
