The disclosure describes a blade holder forming part of a head used to cut timber and produce chips; the blade holder is a flat object folded in the shape of an open V forming two sections, each of which is an integral part of the said object, one providing a surface to be mounted on a rotor and the other upon which the chip cutting blade is to be attached. The head comprises a number of adjacent blade holders mounted radially on the face of the said rotor, the said face being perpendicular to the axis of rotation. The blade is attached to the blade holder by a movable assembly that can be turned in order to use more than one knife edge.
