The invention concerns a knife-ring chip remover for chips with a knife ring arranged rigidly on an axis, which [ring] has a collar of knives as well as bearing rings concentric to the longitudinal axis of the chip remover; with a housing, which partly encloses the knife ring, and a rear wall, an essentially cylindrical sheath, as well as a door lying opposite the rear wall for the driving out of a rotor; with a rotor mounted in a rotatable manner on the axis, which [rotor] is enclosed by the knife ring, and which has blades as well as front walls bearing these; In the region of each front wall of the rotor as well as the region belonging to the two bearing rings of the knife ring is provided each time an abrasion sealing ring; The axial inner edge of each abrasion sealing ring lies at least approximately in the same plane perpendicular to the axis as the axial inner edge of the bearing ring of the knife ring belonging thereto. The invention is characterized by the following features: The abrasion sealing ring provided in the door region is attached to the door; the abrasion sealing ring provided in the region of the rear wall is attached directly or indirectly to the rear wall itself.
