ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to a knife having a butt-welded ferrule (3), and in order to obtain a solution which is particularly advantageous in manufacture it proposes that the swell (2) be welded only to a central region of the wide-side and edges (6') of the ferrule (3) and that the handle member have recesses on the surfaces facing the weld beads.
