A knife (10) has a blade (25) that can be contained within a housing (12) when not in use and extended outside the housing (12) when used. Additional blades (25) can be stored within the housing (12), and when desired, loaded onto a blade seat (14). A trigger actuator (24) moves a blade seat (14) carrying a blade (25) between extended and retracted positions. The blade seat (14) may be locked into a number of different positions.
