KNITTING NEEDLE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This knitting needle is a latch needle of the male latch-female hook type. The shape of the groove in the hook and the shape of the latch is such that during the initial use of the needle, only the end of the inner surface of the latch contacts the bottom surface of the groove. The amount of the surface of the inner portion of the latch which contacts the groove bottom surface gradually increases as the groove bottom surface and the inner surface of the latch are worn by use.
