ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Novel L-3-(3,4-dihydroxy-phenyl)-2-methyl-alanine peptides and their preparation are provided of the formula (I) Image (I) in which A is a saturated, straight-chain or branched alkylene or alkylidene chain which is unsubstituted or substituted by a hydroxyl group or a phenyl radlcal, the phenyl radical being unsubstituted or substituted with one or more hydroxyl groups, and R is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl radical or a glycyl or alanyl radical; and the pharmacologically compatible salts thereof; the novel peptides are useful for their blood-sinking properties since they act as hypotensors which, by competitive displacement, inhibit the decarboxylation of dopa to dopamine, the preliminary stage of noradrenalin.
