ABSTRACT A LABEL A label for attachment to a container, the label (28) comprising a folded longitudinal strip (2) which is divided into a row of panels (4, 6, 8, 10) by a plurality of transverse fold lines (12, 14, 16), two of the panels forming a front cover (4) and a back cover (10) for the remaining panels (6, 8) of the strip (2) when folded, the back cover (10) being adhered by its rear surface to a support web (32) and all of the panels (6, 8, 10) other than the front cover panel (4) being provided with at least one hole (22, 24, 26) whereby when the strip (21) is folded each hole (22, 24, 26) is adjacent a respective corresponding hole (22, 24, 26) in an adjacent panel so as to form at least one composite hole through the panels other than the front cover panel which reveals at least one exposed portion (34, 36, 38) of the support web (32), the or each exposed portion (34, 36, 38) being coated with an adhesive whereby the front cover panel (4) can be folded over the remaining panels (6, 8, 10) and adhered by its inner surface to the or each exposed portion (34, 36, 38) thereby to retain the strip (2) in its folded condition.
